Water is not just H2O. It contains various good minerals called macro and microelements such as calcium and magnesium, but unfortunately, it also contains harmful secondary substances. These substances get into the water from pollutants related to the development of civilization. Consequently, through consumed water or other drinks made from it, they enter the human body.

Below we list some of the major secondary substances:

Nitrites and nitrates – the harmfulness of nitrates are low but they can turn into toxic nitrites that damage red blood cells. They can cause hypoxia, which leads to malformation and carcinogenic effects.

Fluoride – contributes to the development of fluorosis, a disease manifested by stains on tooth enamel and their fragility. Causes dysfunction of some glands such as thyroid, adrenal, pancreas. It causes decalcification of the bones, spinal deformation, lowering intelligence level.

Barium – damages the nervous system and the cardiovascular system.

Uranium – may damage the kidneys.

Lead – causes central nervous system diseases, liver and kidney damage, mental retardation in children.

Chlorine – and its derivatives interfere with the absorption of iodine by lowering it and increasing the rate of oxidation of unsaturated fatty acids necessary for the proper functioning of the human body. It can cause bladder cancer, rectum cancer, and sometimes thyroid tumors. Causes dry skin.

Aluminum – causes disorder in the structure and the functioning of nerve cells, the brain especially. May contribute to the development of Alzheimer’s disease – a degenerative disease that destroys cells in the central nervous system associated with increased levels of aluminum in the nerve tissue and body fluids. This is an irreversible process because nerve cells are not able to reconstruct and rebuild.

Haloforms – these compounds are very toxic and have a wide impact on the human body, and most of them are strongly carcinogenic and mutagenic.

Cadmium – primarily accumulates in the liver, kidneys, pancreas, thyroid, bones, and hair. In excessive amounts, it damages the heart muscle and is carcinogenic. In addition, cadmium causes changes in the bone marrow functioning, nervous system disorders, hypertension and deformation of the bones and skeleton.

Pesticides – can cause muscle weakness, damage the central nervous system, most often brain functions, especially in the sphere of the psyche, slow down the process of thinking and weaken the memory. Many pesticides are attributed to carcinogenic and mutagenic effects and damaging the nervous system. The most sensitive organs to carcinogenic pesticides are the liver and kidneys.

Herbicides – have negative effects on the blood and nervous system.

Hormones – penetrating into the water hormonal contraceptives impede fertility and feminize males.
